1. High safety factor
Garnet sand is a non-metallic ore, free of free silicon and heavy metals. During sand blasting, there will be no dust, which is environmentally safe; Copper slag belongs to nonferrous heavy metals. Sand blasting with copper slag has potential hazards of heavy metal inhalation.
2. High hardness of sand and stone
Garnet sand is more practical when blasting hard objects such as stainless steel. The hardness of garnet sand is between 7.0-8.0, while that of copper slag is much lower than that of garnet sand. After the garnet sand blasting, the surface of the workpiece to be blasted has no obvious peaks and troughs. The roughness is 30-75 μ m, which can meet the highest Sa3 sand blasting standard, but the copper slag can not.
3. Extend the life of the coating
The content of chloride in garnet sand is very low, and no soluble salt will be produced after sand blasting, which can achieve the adhesion of the coating for many years. Copper slag has many components, and its chloride content is higher than that of garnet sand. Therefore, using garnet sand blasting can prolong the life of the coating.
