Garnet filter material is hydrophilic and oil repellent
(1) With continuous adsorption, the surface of the filter material will sometimes absorb some oil stains, and then a large number of impurities will adhere to the surface of the filter material with oil stains. As a common sense of life, we know that oil stains have strong adsorption, and impurities attached to the oil surface are not easy to be washed. During the normal water filtration in the next cycle, impurities will sink from the surface into the interior and gradually accumulate, the pellets will gradually increase, the load of filter material will increase, and over time, it is easy to appear the phenomenon of hardening. However, the garnet filter material is hydrophilic and oil repellent, so it is easy to be cleaned in backwashing.

(2) The particle size of filter material is uneven. If it is too large or too fine, or the surface structure of the filter material is not ideal (such as oval or round surface), the porosity will be inappropriate. In addition, there is little chance of collision and momentum during backwashing, so it is not easy to clean. The porosity of garnet filter material is about 50-55, the particle size distribution is reasonable, and there is no too thick or too large phenomenon. The surface structure is 12 faceted or 38 faceted. There are many collision opportunities during backwashing, and the momentum is large, so the impurities are easy to be washed away.

(3) Generally, the flushing resistance of filter materials can only last for 5-10 minutes. If the time is too long, it is easy to cause mixed layers of filter materials. If the time is too long, the filter materials will be lost and the service life will be shortened. The garnet filter material can withstand the backwash pressure of 15-20 minutes, and will not cause the phenomenon of mixed layers of filter material and water overflow. Garnet filter material has the above characteristics, so it is not easy to harden.
